Chicago Heat Treating
Applied Thermal Provides Heat Treating Services to Chicago, Illinois
Applied Thermal Technologies, Inc. is a NADCAP Accredited metal processing company that provides brazing services to the greater Chicago area. Applied Thermal began in 1992 to service the medical and specialty products industries in Northern Indiana and has since expanded nationally, including Chicago, Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, South Bend, Detroit, and other major cities.
Applied Thermal provides many types of Chicago heat treating, including annealing, brazing, precipitation hardening, and sintering. We perform these services in our high quality vacuum furnaces. Our vacuum furnaces can reach temperatures to 2800 degrees F and can have vacuum levels to 10-6 Torr, with all metal hot zones and extremely rapid cooling.
Applied Thermal specializes in vacuum brazing. Vacuum furnace brazing is superior to welding because it creates clean, flux-free joints and provides high integrity and strength. Temperature uniformity is maintained while heating the work piece in a vacuum, which greatly reduces residual stresses. Vacuum furnace brazing uses slow heating and cooling cycles, which increases the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.
Bright Annealing is the process of cooling an object at a predetermined rate to achieve a specific effect. Often, bright annealing is used to make metals and glass less brittle or to soften materials for further shaping or working. Annealing is used with many metals, including stainless steel, cobalt, chrome, high temperature alloys and titanium. Vacuum bright annealing produces extremely clean parts, eliminating many steps from the manufacturing process.
NADCAP accreditation is required by many national and international manufacturers, and is a mark of prestige that represents superior performance and use of industry standards and leading technology. NADCAP accreditation is an important part of the heat treating industry. We take pride in our accreditation and we know you will, too. Contact us today!
